We should pay attention to a value during Crude Palm Oil Refining, called DOBI. DOBI value is a quality parameter evaluation of palm oil refining capacity. DOBI > 3, the refining capacity is good; DOBI 2.4 ~ 2.4, the refining capacity is medium; DOBI < 2.3, refining capacity is poor.
Generally, crude palm oil does not degum alone, although phosphorus is low (usually less than 20 parts per million (PPM), but before bleaching adding 0.05% phosphoric acid degumming is reasonable, which helps to improve the stability of the refined oil and fried resistance.
Specific way is that before putting crude palm oil into bleaching tower, add a mixer according to the flow of feed mixed with certain proportion of phosphoric acid or citric acid. Put that into bleaching tower after fully mixing. Clay adsorption to degum alone is not enough.
Palm oil has the following features:
1. Contain more unsaturated fatty acid, good stability, not easy to occur the oxidation.
2. The palm oil contains rich vitamin A in the original (500-700 parts per million (PPM) and vitamin E (500-800 parts per million (PPM).
3. To determine the existence of palm oil according the color reaction is not enough. Hydrogenated oil mixed with palm oil is difficult to use simple method to measure out.
In palm oil fractionation process, in order to accelerate the rate of crystallization, we usually add seed crystal in raw material method for help. The seed crystal adding has higher melting point than the raw of materials. There are two ways: one is according to the proportion of directly on the points of the raw materials tanks, mixing and then pumped into crystallizing tank cooling crystallization; the second is to join another finished crystallization crystal in the process of crystallization, tending to shorten the crystallization of the 100-300 minutes of time, but also can improve the yield of liquid oil.
